Dimitris Foutris is a visual artist born in Athens, Greece.
He took his degree in fine arts (painting) in 1996 from the Aristotelian University Of Thessaloniki. He continued his studies in London from 1997 to 2002 completing his MA in fine arts (Painting) and Professional Doctorate In Fine Arts (Drawing and the Digital Era – Digital Drawing And The Physicality Of The Reproduction), at the University Of East London with the support of a state foundation scholarship (IKY), from Greece.
He took commissions in public and private spaces from Foundations and Institutions such as Deste and Intercontinental Hotel.
He is one of the founding members of the editotial team of art-omma, an online art magazine and one of the of the founding members and artistic directors of 1st Athens Biennial’s online art radio (a project realized with the support of the 1st Athens biennial).
He is Also a member of the art group Under Construction.

He is an artist working in various media ranging from Installations, painting, drawing, sculpture, Video and sound works.
He has presented 3 solo shows at Ileana Tounta Gallery in Athens and has participated in more than 30 group exhibitions both locally and internationally, including New Contemporaries 2003 in London & Cornerhouse in Manchester, 1st Glasgow International, Kuenstlerhaus in Vienna, Nominated for the 4th Deste prize in Athens, National Museum Of Contemporary Art in Athens and The State Museum Of Contemporary Art in Thessaloníki.
His work is included in private collections in Greece.
He lives and works in Athens.
