Manolis Baboussis was born in Athens. He completed his studies in Architecture at the University of Florence.
He then studied building restoration in Rome.
He has worked as architect, art director in film productions, and photographer, working for Jannis Kounellis since 1994. He has been teaching an approach to visual art by photographic means at the Athens School of Fine Arts, from 1999 to 2013, wich is when he resigned from his position as professor.
